Who is Jesse Bjorkman?
He’s a husband, Dad and hard-working Alaskan. He’s a Republican running for re-election to the Alaska State Senate to fight for hard working, freedom loving families like yours.
After working behind a meat counter, operating a crane in a paper mill and managing an archery shop, Jesse has been a teacher at Nikiski Middle/High School for well over a decade. He has commercial fished in the Cook Inlet Drift fishery for ten seasons and is a lifelong sport fisherman. Jesse believes in the Alaskan values of self-reliance and resourcefulness.
As a volunteer, Jesse teaches hunter education and organizes educational moose hunts annually to pass these Alaskan traditions on to our youth. He was a director on the local Safari Club International board for over ten years and still is an active member of the club. In this role, he is a strong advocate for Alaska’s unique state’s hunting and land access rights.
Jesse holds the Senate District D seat, representing the Northern Kenai Peninsula. In the 2023-2024 Legislature, he chaired the Senate Labor and Commerce Committee, and held seats on the Education Committee, State Affairs, and Community and Regional Affairs Committees. In his first two years as Senator, Jesse passed 12 initiatives, as separate pieces of legislation or combined with other bills, an impressive accomplishment for a freshman legislator. And he was able to secure funding for several important state projects in District D.
Prior to his election to the State Senate, Jesse served three years on the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly, where he fought to protect your 2nd Amendment rights and worked to repeal vote by mail. During COVID, Jesse worked to open schools and opposed mandates. He also passed legislation to make Borough elections more secure and accountable and affirm the rights of Grand Juries to investigate government corruption.
